Physiotherapy

There are many reasons why you may be considering physiotherapy, whether you have an injury, require post-operation rehabilitation, or are experiencing a chronic condition or pain that you would like advice on how to manage.

The aim of physiotherapy is to return you full function, and/or maximise your potential, as quickly as possible.

A full assessment involves questions about your current injury, condition or concern and relevant past medical history, followed by a physical assessment.  I look beyond your biomechanics to also consider the emotional and physiological impact of any injury or condition.

An initial consultation lasts about 60 minutes. The aim is to assess your issue and  agree a treatment plan. A treatment plan may consist of some or all of the following:

  • a home exercise plan, involving strengthening, mobility or movement pattern work

  • breathing exercises

  • hands-on therapy

  • joint mobilisations

  • hot/cold therapy

Physiotherapy is suitable for anyone who wants to take responsibility for their own healing, under the guidance of a qualified professional.
